Friday 9th December - Castellet (Spain)

On our way back from L’Arboc we stopped at the nearby village of Castellet.  This is pretty hilltop village and has some great views of the surrounding area.

We noticed a small roadside restaurant just across from where we parked the car which looked quite appealing.  Although we had had some tapas earlier in L’Arboc, we decided we would reward ourselves with lunch.  We sat outside in a lovely enclosed garden overlooking the lake.  The setting was really nice, but unfortunately the food and service did not live up to its promise.  Having got our order wrong for the starter, main course and dessert, to add insult to injury the waiter (the term is used loosely) decided he would try and  charge us double the actual cost for the meal.

After our meal we climbed up through the village to the castle.  Only to find, having reached the top of the climb, that it was closed.  However, it was a delightful walk ending in wonderful views so we were pleased that we had made the effort.
