Tuesday 20th December - La Manga del mar Menor, Spain
Having waited a couple of days for the weather to calm down, we decided to head on to La Manga yesterday. It was still raining heavily but the wind had dropped a little and the forecast promised that the weather would improve as we progressed down the coast. This turned out to be a wicked lie as the rain continued unabated all the way and, on arrival, we found that many of the local villages had been flooded out too and a major mopping up operation was underway, with mud covered furniture piled outside of the houses in Los Alcazares and flood water being pumped out of houses and rushing through the town.
Luckily, although our new campsite has suffered a major thunderstorm that had taken all the TV an internet connections down, the site itself was quite dry, being on a hard gravel base.
The best news of all as far as Angela is concerned is that at last she can put her little tree and lights up in the awning. it doesn’t take much…
