Tuesday 30th August - Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

Well, what a difference a day makes, or should I say, what a difference the daylight makes.  We returned to Cesky Krumlov today and couldn’t believe how packed it was.  We can only assume the tourists are all day-trippers as it was like a ghost town yesterday evening.  We were very glad to have taken the evening tour with Ans first as it allowed us to get our bearings without the crush of people on the streets. There was lots of activity on the river too, with rafting and canoeing on offer.  Although we weren’t tempted to join in, we had a beer in a riverside café and enjoyed spectating.
This evening we had a meal in the campsite restaurant and very good it was too.  Thank you lovely staff at Camping Chvalsiny.  We are leaving tomorrow, as are one of the Dutch families that have been so kind to us.  They came over and gave us a parting gift of a box of Hagel Slag from Holland.  Basically, it’s a box of chocolate sprinkles but they shake them on to bread and butter; a variation on chocolate spread.  They are doing the drive home in one day; a distance of over 800km.
