Yesterday we left our campsite in Conil de la Frontera in
Spain and headed for Portugal. We wish
we could have stayed longer as we spent most of our stay using the campsite as
a base for visiting other nearby cities.
Indeed, the campsite was in an excellent location to use as a base but
equally it was set among pine trees with lots of sandy trails to little beaches
and villages that we would have liked to have had time to explore.
We are now making a brief four night stop at Ria Formosa campsite
in Cabanas de Tavira, Portugal. Having
had such a busy week travelling around, we intend to chill here for a couple of
days. It’s less than a mile and a
pleasant walk to the sea front. It’s
also very well located for public transport links throughout the Algarve via
bus and train. We were very pleased to
bump into some fellow travelers that we met originally in Villanova and then
again in Le Manga. We had a wonderful
meal at a fish restaurant on the sea front at Cabanas. The sea bass and prawn kebabs were just
amazing.
