We didn’t get off to a great start today as we had a little domestic problem
when about a gallon of water (~4.5 litres to you young’uns) was pumped into the
caravan when a water pipe came adrift. Clearing up involved taking up part of
the flooring to dry it out. Ah! well no lasting damage.
We were going to Cadiz today, but by the time we’d sorted out the leak there
wasn’t sufficient time so we decided to go to Trafalgar, which is close by and
we’d heard was very nice.
There were a number of camper vans parked on the
roadside near the beach at Trafalgar, and pretty much all of them driven by
surfers and when we got on the beach we saw why. There were also quite a number
of nice looking bars and eateries along the road leading to the beach.
Trafalgar was a brilliant place to visit with lovely sunny sandy beaches and
today some great rolling surf.
The place is, of coarse, well known from a
British (and Spanish and French) history perspective and there is a small
understated plaque overlooking the water.
We walked up to the lighthouse (faro) and sat and watched the surfers before
heading back across the dunes.
