Today we cycled into Arbon. The sun had really brought the crowds out onto the lakeside and the lake was full of boats. From our campsite we can see the zeppelins flying over the lake and today we got a closer view as one flew quite low over us. There is a zeppelin museum on the other side of the lake and they offer flights – neither of us were tempted though.

We could see quite a crowd gathered at the far end of the promenade, so we wandered over for a closer look. There were Wassserhund Trials taking place. A couple of people were taken out on the lake in a boat and then dropped overboard and feigned drowning. The Wasserhund was then despatched to go out and ‘save’ them. Off he paddled, barking all the way as if to say “don’t worry. I’m coming”. He had a kind of saddle strapped onto his back that had handles on top that the victims could hold on to as he towed them back to the shore. It was quite fascinating to watch.

Successful rescue!
Cycling back through Roggwil, this stunning, traditional Swiss Hotel caught our eye. Not least because it’s called “ Hotel Tres Amigos, Mexican bar und restaurant”!
Looks like you are having an amazing time! Miss you so much!!
